Update of internal software
Symptom:
a. No power ON occasionally, then the error history shows followings;
Error 21 / 22 for DMD / Sirocco fan trouble
Error 18 for lamp cover trouble
b.
A perceptible flicker looking like digital noise is caused in the gray area of the projection
image. (Example) in the gray gradation screen, in the gray area of the Excel screen
This perceptible flicker is different from lamp flicker, having features following below.
*It appears in the certain tone wedge while in the gray 256 tone screen. If the [Brightness]
or[Contrast] setting in the menu is shifted, this perceptible flicker is also transferred to
another tone wedge.
*Select [Graphic] or [Theater] in the color mode.
Cause:
a. If the CPU detects unstable conditions of above at power ON, then it stops all internal
circuits automatically.
b.
Due to limitation of internal software for display control system, some flicking can be
occurred at a color tone.
Countermeasure:
When the above symptom can be found with the XJ-360, update internal software as
attached sheets.
Necessary equipment:
a. Personal computer with Windows XP
b. USB cable (A to miniB)
c. CD-ROM of update software and image file of writing data
d. Blind seal for USB on side panel
Please order item b.~d. to Overseas Service Division, Tokyo, Japan.
Please prepare the personal computer with Windows XP at dealer side.

  • Page 2 DLP Composer Lite Flash image file 1-2 Before writing Preparation under following is required before start to write the ROM XJ-360. 1 Install the DLP Composer Lite. Your computer is necessary to be pre-installed DLP Composer Lite. Refer to [Chapter 2. Installing DLP Composer Lite] for more information.
  • Page 3 FlashDeviceParameters.txt 2-3 Confirm that installation has been successfully completed. Open the device manager in the control panel when connecting to the XJ-360 with the USB cable. (After [3-2 Write the ROM] is completed) Installation has been succeeded if the WinDriver and DDP2000 are placed in Jungo.
  • Page 4 Writing the ROM Perform the procedure under following. (1)Confirm setting value XJ-360 does not have the function to send the information as accumulative time to the PC. Be sure to keep separate written copies of all important information before writing. (2)Rewriting ROM Connect the XJ-360 to the computer which has been installed DLP Composer Lite with the USB cable to perform rewriting.
  • Page 5 page-5 2 Plug the AC cord of the projector in the power outlet. (LED on the main unit does not lit because the system is performed in the writing mode.) If the Wizard checking dialog is displayed, check on “install automatically” then click “Next.” 3 Boot up DLP Composer (TM) Lite.
  • Page 6 page-6 6 Press the “Reset Bus” button at the bottom of the screen in the right side. (1 time or more) Confirm that “Bus Rest” is shown in the Status dialog box. USB error window appears whenever USB connection error occurs. [Error check] Click the [Edit] on the left side of the screen.
  • Page 7 page-7 0 Unplug the AC cord then (after for about 5 seconds), remove the USB cable. Procedure is finished. Note: SWDT error occurs if the AC cord is plugged back in the power outlet again within 5 seconds after AC cord is unplugged (procedure 0). Wait more than 5 seconds for the retry. * 5 seconds is not determined time.
