Response factors for additional sample components
If a measuring component is added with a response factor which
was not factory-set, we recommend determining this as follows:
The following information should therefore be noted in
particular:
The zero point should not differ essentially from the
calibrated zero point, in particular when measuring with
small concentrations. Otherwise the display must be
offset against the deviation from the calibration of the
zero point with the measured value display.
0.95
The response factors of a gas in nitrogen and in synthetic
0.95
air may differ considerably from each other.
0.92
The measurements should always be performed with a
0.99
sample component and a measuring range, for example
0.92
THC in ppm C1. When calculating the test gas
1.00
concentration, the number of C-atoms must be
0.97
considered.
0.93
Test gas cylinders with high accuracy (1 % and better)
1.04

Other relevant variables
1.01
The following variables must be stored in the software of the
0.97
gas analyzer for each measuring component:
0.74
Molar mass, number of C-atoms, response factor and strip
0.83
factor (K factor)
0.52
1.00
These variables are stored for the standard sample components;
1.13
they must be entered when adding a user component.
