Step 1.
Place the LOM adapter into the connector on an angle.
Step 2.
Rotate the LOM adapter down.
Step 3.
Push the LOM adapter as shown to insert it into the connector on the system board.
Step 4.
Tighten the thumbscrew to secure the LOM adapter.
Complete the parts replacement. See "Complete the parts replacement" on page 164.

M.2 backplane and M.2 drive replacement

Use this information to remove and install the M.2 backplane and M.2 drive (an assembled M.2 backplane
and M.2 drive is also known as M.2 module).

Before removing the M.2 backplane and M.2 drive:
1. Remove the top cover. See "Remove the top cover" on page 56.
2. For easier operation, remove the riser assembly next to the M.2 backplane. See "Remove a riser card"

3. For server models with twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap drives, if you are removing the 480 GB M.2 drive,
remove the M.2 drive air baffle.
