Step 2. Align and insert an adapter into the slot on the riser card. Make sure you install the adapter into the
right slot.
Notes:
• For the detail connectors on the PCIe riser card, see "PCIe riser assembly" on page 22.
• Install one adapter at a time, do not insert two adapters to the riser card at the same time.
After you install an adapter, complete the following steps:
1. Reconnect the cables.
2. Reinstall the PCIe riser assembly (see "Install the PCIe riser assembly" on page 60).
3. Install the top cover onto the server (see "Install the top cover" on page 75).
4. Install the server into the rack if necessary.
5. Reconnect power cords and all external cables.
6. If necessary, configure the RAID array using the Setup utility configuration.

Install the PCIe riser assembly

Use this information to install the PCIe riser assembly.
Before you install the PCIe riser assembly, complete the following steps:
1. Read the following section(s) to ensure that you work safely.
• "Installation Guidelines" on page 48
2. Install the required adapters.
Notes:
1. PCIe slot 1 and slot 2 do not support ARI and SR-IOV.
2. PCIe slot 3 supports ARI and SR-IOV.
3. QLogic QL41262 PCIe 25Gb 2-Port SFP28 Ethernet Adapter does not support shared storage V3700
V2/XP and V5030 V2 configurations.
To install the PCIe riser cage, complete the following steps:

Step 1. Align the two screw slots on the PCIe riser card with the riser cage. Make sure two screw slots are
aligned at the same time; then, fasten the screws to secure the riser card to the riser cage.
