a) Error displays

1. Print Position

Correction Error
Buzzer: 8 times
ERROR indicator: Blinks twice

carriage drive.

Reconnect power supply.
Check operation

• Faulty MPU

<Cause>
During initialization, the carriage print position is not
corrected. (The differential between the carriage travel
in each direction is outside the correction range.)
<Suspected parts>
• Check for paper jams, wear and tear and removal of carriage belt;
• Carriage with faulty idler pulley assembly operation;
• Carriage shaft distortion, scratches, insufficient lubrication, etc.
• Does the carriage move smoothly when moved manually?
See "4. 2. 2 Carriage unit" (page 5-4) for how to release the carriage lock.

• Are there any problems in the carriage belt or idler pulley?
