Cam Chain Tensioner Inspection - Polaris General 2020 Service Manual

15. Install outer clutch cover and eight retaining screws.
Torque screws to specification.
TORQUE
PVT Outer Cover Fasteners
4.5 lb-ft (6 Nm)
16. Connect the negative (-) battery cable to the battery,
access panel, and install the seat.
17. Start the engine to ensure proper operation.

CAM CHAIN TENSIONER INSPECTION

1. Locate the cam chain tensioner on the MAG side of
the engine near the starter.

2. Remove the plunger bolt
3. Remove the two tensioner mounting bolts
4. Push on the tensioner lock
plunger in and out. It should move freely. If it does not
move freely, replace the tensioner assembly.

6. Install the two mounting bolts. Torque fasteners to

Tensioner Mounting Bolts:
7 ft-lb (10 Nm)

15 ft-lb (20 Nm)
