Bevel cutting

Loosen the lever on the bevel scale plate on the front of
the base. Set for the desired angle (0° - 45°) by tilting
accordingly, then tighten the lever securely.

For straight cuts, align the A position on the front of the
base with your cutting line. For 45° bevel cuts, align the
B position with it. The front of the base is graduated in
inches, and the right edge of the notch is at zero.

The right side of the tool base is graduated in inches.
The "0" graduation indicates the position of the blade
edge when the depth of cut is set at the deepest position.
Use this graduation when performing plunge cuts
(pocket cutting).

Dust collection

This tool is equipped with the dust box to collect dust
and cut chips. When the dust box is about two thirds full,
empty its contents. To do so, press the lever to unlock
the dust cap and open it. Tip the rear of the tool down to
empty the dust box.
Cleaner cutting operations can be performed by
connecting this tool to Makita vacuum cleaner. Remove
the rubber cap from the dust cap and connect the
vacuum cleaner hose to the dust cap.

CAUTION:
Before plugging in the tool, always check to see
that the switch trigger actuates properly and
returns to the "OFF" position when released.
To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Release
the switch trigger to stop.
ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and
unplugged before carrying out any work on the
tool.
