4.2.6 Connect the Alarm Contacts
This step is optional.
Note
Complete the following steps to connect an external alarm device to the wire-wrap pins on the I/O card:
The relay for the circuit-breaker trip alarm is wired through the small green terminal blocks (BRKR 1

and BRKR 2) on the chassis backplane and not through the wire-wrap connector.
Caution
Use extreme caution when wire-wrapping the pin connections for the STAT_ALARMS and
BITS_A/BITS_B pins. Incorrect wire connections will cause damage to the equipment.
Step 1
Measure wire long enough to connect the appropriate pin to the external alarm device. See
wire specifications.
Note
Use a wire stripper to remove the casing from both ends of the wire.
Step 2
Use a wire-wrapping tool to attach the wire to the appropriate pin.
