Single Cell and Multicell Networks

A single cell system consists of one base station with up to 30 handsets. The following diagram shows a single
cell network.

A multicell system consists of several base stations with each handling up to 30 handsets. The following
diagram shows a multicell network with 3 base stations.
• Determine that the base stations are placed so that handsets can communicate. Make sure that the
coverage is optimal for your users.
With the Cisco IP DECT 210 Multi-Cell Base Station, you can add additional base stations to
improve coverage.
