    before first use Remove all packaging including any soleplate protection before heating the iron. Wipe over the soleplate with a cloth moistened with methylated spirit. Remove the methylated spirit with a damp cloth then dry the soleplate thoroughly. Fill the water tank and then empty it. This will rinse out any foreign particles remaining in the water tank from the manufacturing process.

Set the steam control to the no steam position (0). Place the iron horizontally on a flat, stable, dry, heat resistant and level surface and open the water tank inlet cover.

    using your iron Ironing without steam You may see this ‘Do not steam’ symbol on certain delicate fabrics. If you intend to dry iron fabrics, there is no need to fill the water tank. However, if water is already in the water tank, you do not need to empty it. Set the steam control to the no steam position (0).

    using your iron Burst of Steam Note: The temperature selector must be set within the steam setting range (see page 5) when using the shot of steam function. Wait for several seconds between each press of the steam button. Press the shot of steam button whenever you have a stubborn crease that needs extra steam.

    using your iron Note: When the temperature selector is changed from a high setting to a lower setting during ironing, the indicator light will go out immediately. This indicates that the iron is cooling to the selected temperature. To ensure that the iron has reached the selected temperature and is not too hot, wait until the indicator light comes on again, and then goes out before ironing.

    care and cleaning Do not use harsh abrasives, chemical cleaners or solvents to clean the exterior of your iron because they will damage the surface. Cleaning the Soleplate on your Iron After each use, allow iron to cool fully before wiping the soleplate with a damp soft cloth. If polyester has burnt to the soleplate, iron a damp cotton cloth while hot.

The fuse should be rated at 13 amps and be ASTA approved to BS1362. If the fuse in a moulded plug needs to be changed, the fuse cover must be refitted. The appliance must not be used without the fuse cover fitted.
