    IPX-S300B System Overview General Description The SCM Compact (model name: IPX-S300B) provides an IP-based service platform for using a wide range of applications for communications within an enterprise. It is aimed at the SMB market in existing small-scale hybrid PBXs.

System Architecture As shown in Figure 1, the SCM Compact consists of the IPX-S300B, gateway, IP phone, SCM Administrator, and application server. Data network systems such as switches and routers are basic requirements of the SCM Compact and are not included as system components.

    SCM Administrator SCM Administrator is web-based service with a graphical user interface for managing IPX- S300B. You can use a web browser on a normal PC to access IPX-S300B and execute various IPX-S300B services like Fault Management, Performance Management, Security Management, Accounting Management and Subscriber Management.

    Since system resources are limited, a service is required to set the maximum number of calls at any one time. The Call Admission Control (CAC) service provided by IPX-S300B includes CAC by call counts, CAC by location bandwidth, CAC by system resources, and CAC by trunk call counts.
  • Page 45 LCR methods. Call Restriction The IPX-S300B allows restriction of outgoing calls or incoming calls for each user. It is also possible to restrict all outgoing calls and incoming calls. Also, when an external call is placed through a trunk route, usage of the trunk route can be allowed or disallowed.
  • Page 46 If you are using a phone with programmable buttons, such as a Samsung phone, you can assign up to eight call buttons. If there are ten call buttons, the phone can control up to ten calls simultaneously.

  • Page 52  Calendar Exceptions To use ring plans, IPX-S300B refers the calendar which is made when a user group is created for maximum of 20 years. Each day assigns to a day type from Monday to Sunday, Weekday and Weekend as a default.
  • Page 53  Ring Plan Override IPX-S300B provides a manual override service which allows temporary use of a particular ring plan regardless of the current time. When using ring plan override, you can use the override temporarily by specifying an expiration time or use it permanently by not specifying an expiration time.
  • Page 54 Default announcement is Announcement ID 1203.  Group Call Forward IPX-S300B can forward calls for multiple users to one common number by date, day of the week or time of the day according to the system administrator settings. This is call group call forwarding.

Since setting service privileges for all the users individually could be very complicated, Class of Service can be created with their own set of service privileges and users can be assigned to their appropriate Class of Service.

Basic Announcement IPX-S300B provides basic announcement messages on users such as ‘The dialed number you have dialed is not in service’, and additional services such as notification for the user being unavailable to answer the call, Music On Hold, etc.

When a remote dialing service request is received, the IPX-S300B calls the WE VoIP subscriber over the 3G network. LDAP Server The LDAP server uses the internal database of the IPX-S300B to provide information to the LDAP client. LDAP Client For system load and network management, the IPX-S300B assigns different access privileges to users accessing the LDAP server according to their levels.
  • Page 63 Ring Plan The IPX-S300B supports creation of up to 20 ring plan schedules, each of which can have up to 16 ring plans in total including 15 ring plans that are assigned by date, day of week, or hour (ring plans 1-15) and a default ring plan that is used in hours not covered by any other ring plan.

In IPX-S300B, if a member is taking a call and could not receive the multicast paging request, the member can receive the multicast paging after the call is ended. Also, when more than one multicast paging is on hold, the multicast paging requested first will be received.

    The Barge In feature is also known as Call Intrusion or Call Override. The Barge In feature is provided with warning or without warning depending on whether the user is notified that the call has been intruded into. IPX-S300B services both types of the feature.

  • Page 72 Mobile Extension (MOBEX) The mobile extension (MOBEX) feature allows incoming calls to be directed not only to the landlines and mobiles phones registered with IPX-S300B but also to external phone numbers. This is one example of the multi-ring service. The service also allows the user to answer the call with his/her mobile phone and then when the user returns to the office, the call can be transferred to the landline in the office and be picked up for continued conversation.

    CHAPTER 6. Application Features This part describes the applications provided by IPX-S300B and how to configure them. IPX-S300B includes a basic conference system and a basic ACD server. IPX-S300B Express also includes an advanced conference system and a voice mail system.

    When there is an incoming call for the ACD group, a short moment is allowed for the caller to hear the ring back tone, and then the announcement system of the IPX-S300B is connected to play the announcement. Subsequently, if there is an agent available, the call is connected to the agent.

ACD Agent Program While it is possible for ACD agents to process ACD calls by just using the phone, they can also process ACD calls more conveniently using a dedicated agent program.
