INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS
Description:
The 6160AP is a six wire keypad for use with the Destiny 6100 control panel.
Specifications:
Current draw – 85mA
Source – 4 wire bus
Operating voltage – 9.5 to 14V DC
Speaker Resistance – 16 ohms
LCD Abbreviations:
AL – Alert
TR – Trouble / Tamper
BP – Bypass
LB – Low Battery
Wiring:
Four Conductor: Observing proper color code, attach the 6160AP to the 4 wire bus using four-wire
stranded cable. For runs up to 50 feet, 24 gauge wire is recommended and for runs over 50 feet use 22
gauge. An 6160AP can be run directly to the control panel or daisy chained to any other 4 wire bus
peripheral in the system.
Speaker:
Two Conductor: Connect the speaker wires, from the panel, to the "SPEAKER" terminals on the 6160AP.
For best results DO NOT use 6 conductor cable to wire the keypads. A low volume hum may result from
the keypad data lines. Run the speaker wires separately. Refer to the owners manual to determine how to
wire multiple speakers in an installation.
