Quick Guide for Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose monitoring (bGM) system
Testing blood glucose in 4 simple steps

Insert the test strip into the meter in the direction
of the arrows. The meter turns on automatically
and beeps.
Changing battery

Open the battery door on the back of the meter by
pushing the tab in the direction of the arrow and
pulling the door up.
Cleaning the meter
Do
• Ensure that meter is turned off.
• Gently wipe the meter's surface with alcohol
swab (wring out any excess liquid).
Note: Check the expiry date on the test strip bottle. Do not use expired test strips.

Remove the old battery. Insert the new battery
(3 volt lithium battery, coin cell type CR2032)
with the (+) side facing up. Put the battery door
back in place and snap it closed.
Do Not
• Allow any liquid to enter the slots in the meter.
• Spray cleaning solution directly onto the meter.
• Immerse the meter in liquid.

Apply a drop of blood to the front edge of the
yellow window of the test strip. Do not apply
blood on top of the test strip. The meter beeps
when there is enough blood in the test strip.
Viewing test results in memory
With the meter turned on or off, press and release
or to enter memory. The most recent test
result appears on the display.
Meter maintenance
The meter needs little or no maintenance with
normal use. If you encounter any suspicious blood
glucose reading, perform a control test.

The test result appears on the display in
approximately 5 seconds. The meter turns
itself off after the test strip is removed.
Test strip storage
Close the lid immediately after removing a
test strip from the bottle. Keep in cool
and dry area.
