Turning On Your Computer

After you have connected all peripherals and cables, follow these steps to turn on your computer:
1. Turn on all peripherals connected to the system such as a monitor, printer, fax, speakers, etc.
2. Locate the system main power switch on the back of the system unit and turn it on.
3. Press the power button located on the front of the system unit.
When the system finishes booting up, the computer is ready to use.

Turning Off Your Computer

1. Save any work you want to keep and exit programs, then shut down your computer through Windows.
2. Turn off all peripherals connected to the system such as the monitor, printer, fax, speakers, etc.
3. Press the power button located on the front of the system unit. (Note: this step is needed only under Windows
NT Workstation environments.)
You do not need to turn off the system main
power switch on the rear panel. Turn off the
system main power switch only:
If you will not use your system for a long
period of time.
If you need to open your system for
troubleshooting or upgrading purposes.
If the system main power switch is not
available, you must unplug the system.
