6. Both sides of vehicle: Remove wheel axle nut
7. Both sides of vehicle: Remove and discard the two
front brake caliper mounting bolts and remove the
caliper from the brake disc.
Do not hang the caliper by the brake line. Use wire to
hang caliper to prevent damage to the brake line.
8. Remove lower shock fastener

. Move shock and sway bar link out of the
way.
Front suspension must be supported with a strap or
jack before the shock is removed, and must not be
allowed to hang unsupported at full droop. If hung
unsupported, the weight of the suspension will be
applied to the tie rod, resulting in a bent or damaged
inner tie rod.
9. With a short, sharp jerk, remove half shaft from the
front gearcase.

10. Remove two front gearcase isolator fasteners
11. Loosen, but do not remove two vertical bolts
12. Remove and discard roll pin from front prop shaft.
13. Disconnect two front gearcase electrical harnesses.
14. Disconnect vent line and remove gearcase through
the opening in front of the frame.
15. Remove tie rod ball joints from steering knuckles.
