Replacement or Installation of an Additional High Port-Density NIF
The schematic procedure below shows how to install/remove a high port-density NIF to/from
the packet switching unit. As shown in the figure below, a high port-density NIF should be
installed into the packet switching unit, for which the guide rail should already have been
removed.

Replacement or Installation of an Additional High Port-Density NIF
TRAINED ENGINEER OR A QUALIFIED MAINTENANCE PERSON.
Caution: Do not touch the electronic components on the solder side of a NIF. To avoid
damage, always store these components in approved anti-static bags.
NOTE: When installing another NIF, remove the dummy blank panel. Store the removed
dummy panel safely, so that it doesn't get bent or lost.
