(1) Character spacing
"Justify"
The space between characters is distributed evenly to align to a specified character
string width. If the specified character string width is smaller than the character width
multiplied by the number of characters, the character width is automatically reduced.
(1) Character string width
Proportional settings ("Proportional 1", "Proportional 2", "Proportional 3")
Depending on the width of the characters, the character spacing is adjusted. Select this
setting to adjust the spacing of specific characters such as "i" or "l". This setting creates
spaces of a specified value between characters. The character spacing value is defined
as the distance from the end (right edge) of one character to the start (left edge) of the
next.
Select "Proportional 1", "Proportional 2" or "Proportional 3" from the list box.
"Proportional 1" specifies the smallest spacing between the characters, "Proportional 3"
the largest.
If "LP-400/V compatibility" on the "System settings" screen is selected, specify the
proportional settings under "File settings" > "Proportional type".

"Proportional 1": The character spacing of "i" or "l" (small letter "L") is defined as "0".
Use this setting to set a minimum character spacing value.
"Proportional 2": With this setting, the character width of "i" or "l" (small letter "L") is
defined as 1/4 of the width of the letter "W".
"Proportional 3": With this setting, the character width of "i" or "l" (small letter "L") is
defined as 5/8 of the width of the letter "W".
