If the wall s made of br ck, concrete, or s m lar mater al, dr ll 5mm-d ameter (0.2 n-
d ameter) holes n the wall and nsert the sleeve anchors prov ded. Then secure the
mount ng plate to the wall by t ghten ng the screws d rectly nto the cl p anchors.
Step 3: Dr ll wall hole for connect ve p p ng
You must dr ll a hole n the wall for refr gerant p p ng, the dra nage p pe, and the s gnal cable that w ll
connect the ndoor and outdoor un ts.
1. Determ ne the locat on of the wall hole based on the pos t on of the mount ng plate. Refer to
Mount ng Plate D mens ons on the next page to help you determ ne the opt mal pos t on. The
wall hole should have a 65mm (2.5 n) d ameter at least, and at a sl ghtly lower angle to fac l tate
dra nage.
2. Us ng a 65-mm (2.5 n) core dr ll, dr ll a hole n the wall. Make sure that the hole s dr lled at a sl ght
downward angle, so that the outdoor end of the hole s lower than the ndoor end by about 5mm to
7mm (0.2-0.275 n). Th s w ll ensure proper water dra nage. (See F g. 5.2)
3. Place the protect ve wall cuff n the hole. Th s protects the edges of the hole and w ll help seal t
when you f n sh the nstallat on process.
