Set Auxiliary Functions On
Users can activate certain auxiliary functions
provided by the receiver/driver of a so-equipped
camera by performing the following steps:
1. Press ON and verify the ON indicator lights.
2. Key in the auxiliary function number using the
numeric keypad.
3. Press ENTER.
EXAMPLE: ON 3 ENTER
The above example will activate receiver/driver
auxiliary number 3 on the camera currently being
viewed. Note that the first 4 auxiliaries correspond to
relay outputs in the receiver/drivers (Aux 1 in the
TC8561A Series are solid state relays strapped to
the same voltage as the pan/tilt output). These can
be
configured
by
receiver/driver as either 'latching' or 'momentary'
type functions. If configured for the 'latching' type,
the auxiliary will stay on once activated until turned
off. If configured as 'momentary', the auxiliary
remains on only as long as the ENTER key is held
down. The auxiliary outputs 2 through 4 can also be
configured as a contact closure, 24 volts AC, or as
line voltage. Auxiliary number 5 controls the DITHER
function, which is explained in more detail later in
this section. Auxiliary number 6 corresponds to an
internal receiver/driver AUTO-PANNING feature
which must be previously enabled by an option
switch inside the receiver/driver. If the AutoDome
series of dome cameras is being used, certain
auxiliary commands are also used to activate
operational features and functions. A summary list of
the various AutoDome commands is included in the
Appendix section of this manual for your reference.
Refer to the AutoDome user manual for complete
information.

Dither Control
The DITHER function is a receiver/driver operation
the
intended for applications where very low-light level
cameras are used. Its function is to prevent bright
lights in the scene from burning a spot on the camera
imager. If the pan/tilt is not moved for a period of
about
2
minutes,
automatically pan right for approx. 0.5 seconds. Two
minutes later, a pan left will occur and the cycle will
continue until disabled. The feature is selected by an
option switch in the receiver/driver and is controlled
by the auxiliary 5 function. To control the DITHER
function, perform the following steps:
1. Press ON or OFF and verify the indicator lights.
2. Key in number 5 using the numeric keypad.
3. Press ENTER.
EXAMPLE: ON 5 ENTER
The above example will turn on the DITHER function
on the camera currently being viewed. Note that the
option switch in the receiver/driver must be enabled
for this feature to work. On newer versions of the
receiver/driver, the pan/tilt unit will make one short
Left/Right cycle to indicate that the dither function
has been activated. Note that a camera in the
DITHER mode will accumulate a viewing error if left
unattended for a long period of time, so occasionally
a manual adjustment of the pan/tilt may be required.
