In case it will not shift yet, use emergency
lever and emergency manual shift lever of
the warning outboard to shift it into neutral
and then start the engine.
For operations of the emergency lever and
emergency manual shift lever, refer to
page 10B-22~23.

Run to the nearest port immediately and
consult your YAMAHA dealer.
WARNING
Do not cruise if the emergency lever and
emergency manual shift lever have to be
used.
The emergency means are designed exclu-
sively for running to a service available
port immediately.
The following are the possible causes of the
shifting failure.
A wire disconnection in the power source
of the actuator or reduction to the actuator
operating voltage.
Failure of sensors on the actuator or in the
junction unit, or wire disconnection in
those components.
Failure of actuator or its related compo-
nents.

Shift engagement failure warning

In case the outboard will not shift into forward
or reverse through the control lever is moved.
The buzzer should start to sound within
four seconds after moving the remote con-
trol lever.
Engine speed cannot be increased though
the remote control lever is moved.
NOTE:
NO visual warning is provided.
