Maintenance

This Section describes the maintenance work which
can be performed by the user.

Cleaning and servicing

Servicing and repair work is only to be performed
by authorized service personnel. Ensure compliance
with the safety precautions for service and main-
tenance as described in the "Safety instructions"
Section.

Observe the following intervals for maintenance work
and testing.

Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
Component
Notes on cleaning
Analog display
Wipe over the display with a damp, lint-free
cloth.
Set of rollers
To ensure proper operation, brush off or ex-
tract any contamination (e.g. stones) from the
set of rollers.
Water drain
Make sure the water drain is not obstructed
and cannot become clogged.

Checking drive chains

Only use commercially available chain grease.
Component
Notes on cleaning
Chain tension
Check the correct tension of the two drive
chains:
10 mm play at the longest point,
re-tension if necessary.
Lubrication
Check for adequate lubrication of the
two drive chains.
Re-grease if necessary.

Fuse replacement

Danger of fatal injury from mains voltage.
There is a risk of fatal electrocution in the
event of contact with components carrying
mains voltage.
Switch off the BSA 43xx and disconnect
from the power mains (customer).
Secure to prevent inadvertent re-connec-
tion or switch-on.
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the master switch box from the power
supply.
? The master switch box can be safely opened.
2. Remove the cover from the underside of the master
switch box (retaining bolts).

1 Fuse F1: 5A medium time lag
2 Fuse F2: 5A medium time lag

Only use fuses with the following specifications:
$
Fuse F1: 5A medium time lag.
$
Fuse F2: 5A medium time lag.
3. Replace the defective fuse.
4. Re-attach the cover on the underside of the master
switch box.
5. Connect the master switch box to the power supply.
6. Switch on the master switch and check for correct
operation.
