Distributed I/O

For S7-300/S7-400 as well as S7-1500, distributed I/Os can be connected via
PROFIBUS or PROFINET, for example, ET200SP, ET200MP, ET200AL,
ET200pro, ET200eco or ET200iSP. How and which I/O is used depends on some
factors (e.g., quantity framework/number of inputs and outputs, environmental
conditions). This is how the I/O may be maintained during migration.
