Operations
VariPlay
In VariPlay mode, you can reproduce the film at a
desired speed between 5.00 and 30.00 fps, in intervals
of 0.01 fps.
To carry out playback in VariPlay mode, follow the
procedure below.

In stop mode, press to light up the VARI/
LOCKED PLAY button.

To adjust the playback speed, turn the jog/shuttle
dial.
The playback speed is indicated on the VARI/
LOCKED PLAY display. During playback, it is
also displayed on an HD or SD monitor screen.
Note
The playback speed for VariPlay mode can be
adjusted in stop mode only.

Press the PLAY or REV button.
Playback at the adjusted speed starts.

To stop playback in VariPlay mode, press the
STOP button.
To return to normal playback
In stop mode, press the VARI/LOCKED PLAY button
to make the button go dark. The playback speed
indicated on the VARI/LOCKED PLAY display is
reset to "00.00," and the normal playback speed is
retrieved.
SD video output signals in VariPlay mode
• An optional BKFV-100/1 board must be installed.
• An internal or external signal path must be set as
follows with the menu on the control panel.
Internal signal path: Set SIGNAL PATH on the
SETUP menu to HD1–SD1/2
External signal path: Set SIGNAL PATH on the
SETUP menu to HD1
• The same video rate must be set for both the HD and
SD video output signals, and it must be 60i/1.001 or
50i/1.000.
Settings other than mentioned above will mute the SD
video output signal.

Stopping the System
Temporarily
Press the READY button in STOP mode, and the film
tension is released.
The tension is retrieved when the READY button is
pressed again, and playback starts again from precisely
the point.
This function is not available now.
Controlling the Unit With an
External Device
Press the REMOTE button so that the button lights.
Then you can control the unit using an external device
connected to the REMOTE connector on the rear.
