Location and Function of Parts
0 AUX (auxiliary) connectors (D-sub 9-pin)
Connecting an external matrix switcher to one of these
connectors allows you to switch the signals input to
this unit from the matrix switcher. Only one of the two
connectors should be used.
!¡ EDITOR connector (D-sub 9-pin)
Connecting a BVE-2000 or other editing control
system allows you to control this unit from the editor.
This connector complies with the RS-422A standard.
!™ GPI connector (D-sub 15-pin)
Connect to external equipment to input trigger signals.
There are four inputs. You can set the input conditions
for each connector using the BKDM-3010 Control
Panel menu.
!£ AC IN (AC power input) connector
Connect to an AC outlet with the power cord.
For the DME-3000, use the supplied power cord.
For the DME-7000, use the optional power cord
described on page 19(E).
!¢ Signal ground terminal
Connect to the system ground as required.

!∞ SWITCHER PANEL connectors (D-sub 9-pin)
Connecting the BKDS-6010 Control Panel for the
DVS-6000 Digital Video Switcher allows you to run
or recall key frame effects from the switcher control
panel. To control the DME-3000/7000 from a
switcher control panel, you can connect the BKDS-
8010 Control Panel for the DVS-8000/8000C Digital
Video Switcher, or the BKDS-7011/7012 or another
control panel for the DVS-7000 Digital Video
Switcher. However, certain functions are subject to
limitations when the BKDS-8010 is connected.
These two connectors form a loop-through connection.
Connecting a second DME-3000/7000 unit to the
unused connector allows you to control both DME-
3000 units (or up to four DME-7000 units) from the
same switcher control panel.
These connectors comply with the RS-422A standard.
!§ NETWORK connector (D-sub 15-pin) (DME-
7000 only)
Use for 10 BASE-5 Ethernet connections to network
equipment.
!¶ TERMINAL connector (D-sub 15-pin) (DME-
7000 only)
Connect to the RS-232C serial port of a control
terminal to use the ISR (interactive status reporting)
system.
