In MAC control mode, if only IPv4 portal authentication or IPv6 portal authentication is configured, the
device controls traffic on the user access port according to the ACL authorized by the server, regardless
of whether the ACL is an IPv4 ACL or an IPv6 ACL. An authorized ACL can be an IPv4 basic ACL, IPv4
advanced ACL, IPv6 basic ACL, or IPv6 advanced ACL.
To configure the control mode for portal user packets:
Step
1.
Enter system view.
2.
Enter interface view.
3.
Configure the control mode for
portal user packets.
NOTE:
This function takes effect only to direct and re-DHCP Layer 3 portal authentication. In cross-subnet
authentication mode, this function is configurable but does not take effect.

Enabling portal user roaming

When the portal user roaming function is disabled, if the access port of a portal user changes (for
example, from GE3/0/1 to GE3/0/2), the portal user will be re-authenticated even if the original
access port and the new access port belong to the same VLAN. After portal user roaming is enabled, a
portal-authenticated user does not need re-authentication when the user roams from the current access
port to another Layer 2 port of the device as long as the two ports belong to the same VLAN.
When configuring the portal user roaming function, follow these guidelines:
After configuring this function, you must save the configuration and then restart the device to
validate the configuration.
After this function is enabled, the maximum number of portal users allowed by the device is 8000.
If you want to increase this number, you must first disable the portal user roaming function. For more
information about setting the maximum number of portal users, see
of online portal
