Internal checksum error
HP-1113 failed loopback test
RESETTING INTERNAL STORAGE
When an error is detected in the checksum of internal storage during the self-test, the analyzer automatically
resets internal storage . While resetting internal storage, the message "WAIT Resetting internal storage" is
displayed on-screen . If the reset is successful, the message "Internal storage reset successful" is displayed on-
screen . If the reset has not been successful, the message "Reset failed, internal storage has failed" is
displayed .
To manually reset internal storage, toggle switch 1 of the HP-1113 address switch . The message "WAIT Resetting
internal storage" will appear on-screen while the reset is taking place . When the reset has been completed
successfully, the message "Internal storage reset successful" is displayed . If the reset has not been successful,
the message "Reset failed, internal storage has failed" is displayed on-screen . The analyzer may be used
without the internal storage and the performance of the analyzer is not affected . When attempting to store
information to the internal storage via the SYSTEM [Peripherals] menu, the analyzer will attempt to reset
internal storage and the message "Internal storage failed power-up" will be displayed . Refer to Chapter 8 for
more information about internal storage and the SYSTEM [Peripherals] menu . Inverse assemblers may not be
loaded to the analyzer without internal storage.
POWER UP DISPLAY MESSAGES
When the analyzer is powered-up, it goes through a sequence of power-up routines and displays messages on
the SYSTEM [Configuration] menu . The same power-up routines are performed after the self-test when the
Self-Test switch on the HP-1113 address switch has been returned to "0" (switch lever down).
NOTE
Reconnect HP-IB accessory instruments to rear panel HP-1113 port before setting HP-1113
switch 6 to "0".
During the power-up routine, the analyzer reads the HP-1113 port and automatically assigns addresses to any
accessories that may be connected to the HP-1113 port . Addresses are assigned so duplication of addresses
does not take place . Inverse assemblers and stored configurations are automatically re-loaded in the power-
up sequence unless instructed otherwise in the SYSTEM [Peripherals] menu . The inverse assembler is loaded
first, and then the stored configurations . The messages "Inverse assembler loaded" and "Configuration
loaded" will be displayed in the lower left hand corner of the display when the internal storage checksum is
correct. If on power-up, the internal storage checksum is in error, the message "Internal storage corrupt" is
diplayed in the lower left hand corner of the display. The analyzer will reset the internal storage and display
"Internal storage reset successful" if it was able to reset. When not able to reset, the message "Internal storage
failure" will be displayed . If an inverse assembler was stored it will be lost and the message "Inverse assembler
lost" will be displayed whether the internal storage failed or was successfully reset.
