Audio Settings

Go to "HOME" > "Settings" > "Audio Settings" >

Audio Out

This lets you set the digital audio output format
according to the capabilities of the connected audio
equipment.
• For details, refer to the audio output format selection table
on page 53.

HDMI Output: Auto, PCM
Digital Output: Bitstream, 192 kHz PCM,
96 kHz PCM,48 kHz PCM
NOTE
• Make sure to select a compatible digital audio output
format, otherwise you will hear no sound or a garbled
noise.
• If the HDMI device (Receiver, TV) is not compatible with
compressed formats (Dolby Digital, DTS, DSD), the audio
signal outputs as PCM.
• If you play MPEG audio soundtracks, the audio signal
format will be PCM regardless of digital audio output
format selection (PCM or Bitstream).

Secondary Audio

This let you to set the Secondary Audio Program
mixing option.
Item
On: The Secondary Audio Program and menu sounds
are mixed into the primary audio.
Off (default): The Secondary Audio Program and menu
sounds are not mixed into the primary audio and you
cannot hear the secondary audio or menu sounds.
NOTE
• This function is only effective for Blu-ray contents.
• The secondary audio is all output after converted to 48
kHz PCM data.
• Secondary and Effect audio is not present on DVD video.

DSD DAC Direct

This lets you send the original signal (DSD data) in a
SACD or DSF/DSDIFF file directly to the DAC.
Faithful sound to the original can be output from the
analog audio terminals (RCA/XLR).

On (default): DSD data is directly input to the analog DAC.
Off: DSD data is first converted to PCM data and then
input to the analog DAC.
NOTE
• Multi-channel DSD data is always converted to PCM data
regardless of the current settings.
• Set "Audio Out" to "Analog Output" .

Dynamic Range Control

This lets you adjust the range between the loudest
and softest sounds (dynamic range) for playback
at average volume. Use this when it is hard to hear
dialog.
Item
Normal: The same audio output range is played as the
original recorded audio output range.
Shift*: When Dolby Digital audio is played back, the
dynamic range of the audio is adjusted so that the
dialog portion can be heard easily. (If the audio
sounds abnormal, set to "Normal" . )
Auto: When you play back audio in the Dolby TrueHD
format, the dynamic range is automatically adjusted.
* Lower the audio volume before setting. If you do not do
so, the speakers may emit a loud sound or excessive
output may be applied to the speakers.

Analog Output Volume

This let you to enable or disable the analog volume
controls.
Item
Variable: Enables the analog volume control. Use the
Volume control to increase/decrease the analog audio
output level (the maximum is 100).
Fixed: The analog audio output level is fixed to 100.
