Monitor volume switch may be set to "L".

Fax possibly being transmitted or received.
Too many phones may have been connected to the same
line.

Remote reception feature

If you have initiated the
remote reception will not work.
switch (No. 08) may have been
call from the extension phone,
FAX/lEL parallel connection feature switch (No. 57) may
have been set to off.
If you have initiated the call from extension phone, remote
reception will not work.
