Using the LAN interface
Before connecting to the LAN interface
The LAN interface on the EXPLORER 700 comprises two connectors. If more than one LAN or WLAN
user is connected to the EXPLORER 700, the terminal should be in Router mode. Refer to
Configuring the LAN interface on page 110.
To connect to the LAN (Local Area Network) interface, use a shielded cable mounted with an RJ-45
connector.
For specifications, refer to LAN interface, 2-port on page 185.
For the LAN interface to work without any further setup, the computer must be set up to obtain an
IP address and a DNS server address automatically.
To check these settings on your computer, do as follows (For Windows XP):
1.
Select Connect To > Show All Connections from the Start menu.
2. Double-click Local Area Connection.
3. Click Properties
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list and click Properties.
Make sure both fields are set to obtain an address automatically.
