Tightening the Cylinder Head
Tightening the Cylinder Head (Turn-of-Nut Method)
1. Tighten the bolts in the sequence 1 to 10 to a torque of 40 N•m (4.0 kgf•m).
2. In the sequence 1 to 7, loosen each nut then retighten it to a torque of 22 N•m (2.2 kgf•m)
before finally tightening it another 90°.
3. In the sequence 8 to 9, loosen each nut then retighten it to a torque of 35 N•m (3.5 kgf•m)
before finally tightening it another 90°.
4. Loosen nut 10 then retighten it to a torque of 22 N•m (2.2 kgf•m) before finally tightening it
another 90°.
TIP
The numbers 1 to 10 show the sequence in which the bolts are tightened.
Apply engine oil to the bolt threads, contact surfaces, and washers.
Replace the nuts and washers during overhaul.
These numbers indicate the tightening sequence.
