4.5.2 Setting the VLAN Parameters
To establish voice communications between IP telephones, the primary ports of the IP telephones and the
connected PBX must belong to the same VLAN. Consult your network administrator and obtain the appropriate
VLAN ID.
If you are using an IP telephone equipped with two ports, it is possible to place primary and secondary ports
of the IP telephone on different VLANs by assigning separate VLAN IDs to each port.
Follow the procedure below for all IP-PTs on the network, using appropriate VLAN IDs.
Note
For details for the KX-NT400, refer to the Operating Instructions of the KX-NT400.
The KX-NT136 is not available for KX-NCP series PBXs.
The procedure for SIP Extensions may vary depending on the type of the SIP Extension being used.
Refer to the documentation of your SIP Extension for instructions.
KX-NT300 series (except KX-NT321)/KX-NT136
After assigning
the IP addresses
To set the VLAN ID for the primary port
Select "Primary port".
ENTER
To set the VLAN ID for the secondary port
Return to the
VLAN setting screen.
VLAN ID
1–4094
To end programming
Return to the
Menu screen.

The VLAN priority of the primary port must be set higher than the priority of the secondary port. The larger the number, the higher
the priority.
