I have had one of these sitting around for some time and decided to start using it. Have had it plugged in for 24 hours and all appears fine but when I call the number from my mobile it rings on the mobile but nothing happens on the BT 4500. when I take from the base it just shows Handset 1 and please check line cord. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong ?. would the batteries affect an icoming or outgoing call ? Thanks in advance
Possible reasons why the BT 4500 is not ringing or responding to incoming calls despite being plugged in for 24 hours include:
1. Power Supply Issues – Ensure the power supply is connected to a working socket.
2. Line Cord Connection – Verify that the line cord is properly connected to the telephone socket.
3. Battery Charge – The handset should be charged for 24 hours before first use.
4. Interference – Place the base unit away from large metal objects and electronic devices to avoid signal interference.
5. Answer Machine Settings – Check that the ring delay is set correctly to answer before any voicemail service like BT Answer 1571.
6. Faulty Equipment – If the issue persists, the phone may be faulty and may need repair or replacement.
If problems continue, contact the helpline for further assistance.
