The Honeywell FOCUSPRO TH5000 thermostat supports gas heating systems, including boilers. When wiring the thermostat to a gas boiler, follow these steps:

1. Turn Off Power: Shut off power to the heating system to avoid electrical hazards.
2. Identify Wires: Locate the existing thermostat wires and identify their terminals.
3. Connect Wires:
- R (Power, 24V) → Connect to the R terminal (If there is an RH and RC terminal, use a jumper wire).
- W (Heating) → Connect to the W terminal.
- C (Common, if available) → Connect to the C terminal for continuous power.
4. Secure Connections: Ensure all wires are properly secured in their terminals.
5. Mount Thermostat: Attach the thermostat to the wallplate and restore power.

Regarding a delay setting, the thermostat includes a built-in compressor protection delay of 5 minutes to prevent short-cycling. Since gas boilers typically do not require compressor protection, this delay is not necessary for heating operation. However, if using a heat pump in addition to the boiler, the delay should remain enabled.
