Using HDPREPEZ in Windows NT

In Windows NT with a system BIOS of version 1.00.01, run the HDPREPEZ
utility if you increase the memory capacity in your NEC Versa beyond 256 MB
of main memory.
Follow these steps to run the HDPREPEZ utility.
1. Close all background applications before running the HDPREPEZ utility.
2. Go to Start, Programs, AMI Save to File.
3. Select Undo STF File.
4. A DOS box opens and prompts for a response. Enter

6. Select Create STF File.
A DOS box displays and advises you to close all background applications.
The message also indicates that your system will reboot when the process is
complete. Finally, the message prompts you to "Proceed Y/N?"

A file, large enough to accommodate your system's memory is created on
the hard disk drive. When the process is complete, your system reboots.
In Windows NT with a system BIOS of version 1.00.02, run the HDPREPEZ
utility in DOS.
Follow these steps to run the HDPREPEZ utility.
1. Create a temporary directory on the hard drive.
2. Copy all the files in [CD-ROM:]\software\both\hdprepez (where
[CD-ROM:] is the CD-ROM drive letter) to the newly created temporary
directory.
3. Restart the system with a DOS bootable diskette.
4. In DOS, change directories to the newly created directory.
5. If you booted the system with a diskette created with MS-DOS, see the
readme.txt file on how to use HDPREPEZ.
If the diskette was created with Windows 95 or Windows 98, the hard drive
needs to be locked to write to it using HDPREPEZ. At the A: prompt, type
