To access the lower traction cable for replacement on an Ariens Deluxe 28, follow these steps:

1. Shut Off the Engine – Remove the key, disconnect the spark plug wire, and allow the unit to cool completely.
2. Remove Covers – Take off the belt cover and chute gear cover to access internal components.
3. Locate the Traction Clutch Cable – Identify the lower traction cable connected to the drive system.
4. Loosen the Jam Nut – If needed, loosen the jam nut on the cable adjuster to free the cable.
5. Detach the Cable – Disconnect the lower traction cable from the control panel and drive mechanism.
6. Install the New Cable – Attach the new cable in the same position as the old one.
7. Adjust the Cable – Turn the adjuster body up or down to set the proper tension between the clutch lever and handlebar.
8. Reassemble the Covers – Once properly installed and adjusted, reattach the belt cover and chute gear cover.
9. Test the Operation – Reconnect the spark plug wire, start the engine, and check the traction system for proper function.
