Problem solving guide
. . . a noise can be heard after baking,
roasting or grilling
This is not a fault.
The cooling fan continues to run for a
while after the oven has been switched
off to prevent any humidity building up
in the oven, on the control panel or on
the oven housing unit. When the
temperature has fallen sufficiently, the
fan switches off automatically.
It will switch off sooner if the oven door
is opened partially or fully.
. . . cakes and biscuits are not cooked
properly after following the times
given in the chart
Check whether,
^ the correct temperature was set.
^ there has been a change to the
recipe. The addition of more liquid or
more eggs makes a moister mix
which would need longer to cook.
^ the roasting filter was left in front of
the fan when baking with Fan
plus Y. If this was the case, baking
times might need to be lengthened
by approx. 10 to 15 minutes.

. . . cakes or biscuits are unevenly
browned
There will always be a slight
unevenness. Product information
sheets give a percentage result for
standard browning tests. These refer to
results for one tray.
If browning is very uneven, check
when baking with Fan plus Y:
– whether the temperature was set too
high,
– whether the roasting filter was in
place,
– whether the correct shelf level was
used.
when baking with Conventional A:
– the colour and composition of the
baking tins being used. Light
coloured, shiny, or thin walled tins
are less suitable,
– whether the correct shelf level was
used.
