I
1. if you have already plugged your VCR, DVD
player, TV and this receiver into the AC outlets,
unplug their AC power cords first.
2. Connect your VCR, DVD player, TV and this
receiver, using the cables with the monaural mini-
plugs (not supplied).
• See "CONN_TIONS 1" on the l:rrevJous page.
3. Connect file audio inpuffoutput jacks on VCR,
DVD player, TV and this r_eiver using the cables
with RCA pin plugs.
• Seepages 14and 15.
4. Connect the video input/output jack.s on VCR,
DVD player, TV and thLs r_eiver, using the
cables with RCA pin plugs, S-video plug or
component video plugs.
• See "CONN_TIONS 2" on the l:rrevJous page.
5. Plug the AC power cords of the components and
the receiver into the AC outlets.
6. When turning on the TV for the first time after
the AV COMPU LINK connection, turn the TV
volume to the minimum using the TV volume
control on the TV.
7. !lhrn on the connected components first, then
turn on this receiver.

Simply by inserting a video c_ssctte without its s_e_" tab i_tu the
VCR, you can enjoy tl'_evideo playback without sat_iag ot_uz
switches manually, l'he receiver aumm_cally turns on and changes
tl'_esource to "¥CR 1" (.fur RX-8030VBK) c_r"¥CR" (fur RX-
7030VB K/ltK 7032VSL).
l'he I'V aummabcally turns on and changes the input mode to the
appr_IYriatc position so that you can _'_cwthe playback picture.

* When you select "TV" ws the source to play on the receiver, the
I'V auturmttieally changes the input mode m the I'V tuner so that
you can watch I'V.
* When you sdiect any"other video source other than "I'V" as the
source to play on the receiver, the I'V aummatica.lly changes the
{nput mc_e to the appropriate position (dither Video Input 1 ccr
Video Input 2) so that you can view the playback Nctare.

• Whet) you select _TV_aS the Source on the receive_ you cennet son

control system automatically changes the TV'e input mode to the
TV tuner,
• This function does not _rk when you connect this receiver and the
TV with the AV COMPU LINK EX terminal using a component video

Automatic Power On/Off

When you tam offthe receiver, the 3'\_ VCR and the DVD player
will turn off,
Note:
ff you turn off the receiver while recording On the VCR, the VCR witl
not turn off, but continue recording.
