Drainfuelfrom the tank by runningtheengine untilthe fueltank is
empty.Be surethe fuel fill capis secure.
NOTE:An oil drain extensionkit is availableseparately. C ontacta
SearsPartsand RepairCenterfor kit #753-06684.

Placea suitableoil collectioncontainerunderthe oil drain plug.

Removetheoil drain plug,Figure11.

Tip thesnow throwerbackto drain oil intothe container.Usedoil
mustbe disposedof at a propercollectioncenter.
5.
Reinstallthe drain plugand tightenit securely.
6.
Refillwith the recommended oil and checkthe oil level;referto
Checkingand AddingOil in the AssemblySection.
7.
Reinstallthe oil fillercap/dipsticksecurely.

DO NOTcheckfor a sparkwith the spark plug removed.DO NOT
crankthe enginewith the spark plug removed.
If the engine hasbeen running,the mufflerwill be very hot. Be careful
notto touchthe muffler.
Thespark plug shouldbe checkedevery25 hoursand changedonce
a seasonor every 100hours. Toensureproperengine operation, t he
sparkplug mustalso be properlygappedand free of deposits.

removethe plug,Figure12.

Visuallyinspectthe sparkplug. Discardthe sparkplug if thereis
any apparentwear,or if the insulatoris crackedor chipped.Clean
the spark plugwith a wire brushif it is to be reused.
NOTE:A resistorsparkplug must be usedfor replacement. C ontact
a Sears Partsand RepairCenterfor a replacementsparkplug (Part#
951-10292).
3.
Measurethe pluggap with a feelergauge.Correctas necessary
bybendingthe sideelectrode,Figure13.Thegap shouldbe set
to .02-.03inches(0.60-0.80ram).

Checkthat the spark plugwasheris in good conditionand thread
the spark plug in by hand to preventcross-threading.
