If the 2 optional screws that secure the quarter-turn latches are installed, remove the 2 screws on the latches on the hard disk drive compartment using a #1 Philips screw driver. If the 2 security screws are not installed, proceed to step 4.

Remove the 2 screws that secure the USB Rear Door to the chassis. Also remove the gasket which is positioned between the screws and the door.

Lift the right side of the hinge cover away from the notebook. Then go to the left side, and similarly lift the left side of the hinge cover.

Apply pressure around the perimeter to ensure the keyboard lip is properly fitted to the palmrest bucket. b.
