The 5 tone decoders in the TRICK will only decode received telegrams if the Valid Audio signal is
present (ie if PL is used with 5 tone signalling decoding occurs only when PL is present).
Using the RSS, it is possible to vary the duration of the tones which make up the encode and
decode telegrams. This capability is provided to overcome 5-tone signalling timing issues.
The 5-tone functionality supported by the TRICK is as follows;
Decoders
Four 5-tone decoders are supported. Each decoder may be configured to decode telegrams with
lengths of between 1 and 11 individual tones.
Each tone may be prolonged to address any timing issues.
Using the RSS it is possible to configure the TRICK to send a 5-tone acknowledgment when a
received telegram has been decoded.
Each decoder may be assigned one of the following functions;
u
Repeater Set-Up
u
Repeater Knock-Down
u
Repeater Set-Up/Knock-Down Toggle
u
Repeater Enable
u
Repeater Disable
Encoders
Three 5-tone encoders are supported. As with the decoders, each decoder may be configured to
encode telegrams with lengths of between 1 and 11 individual tones.
Each tone may be prolonged to address timing issues. Furthermore, a programmable pre-time
duration may be configured for each encode telegram.
The three encoders support the following functions;
u
Disconnect
This encoder is used to send over-air notification of call termination
u
Acknowledge
This encoder is programmed to define the telegram which is sent to acknowledge that a
received 5-tone telegram has been decoded.
u
Alarm
If configured, this encoder defines the telegram which is transmitted when the alarm
inputs to the TRICK are activated.
