[CUSTOM SETUP]
Use this to set up playback related and other
settings.
Select [(USTOM SETUP] in the Setup Display.
To use the display, see "Using the Setup
Display" (page 71).
The default settings are underlined.
• [PAUSE MODE] (DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW
only)
Selects the picture in pause mode.
[AUTO] The pictlue, inchlding subjects
that move dynamically, is output
with no jitter. Normally select this
position
[FRAME] The picture, inchlding subjects
that do not move dynamically, is
output in high resohltion.
• [TRACK SELECTION] (DVD VIDEO only)
Gives the sound track which contains the highest
number of channels priority when you play a
DVD VIDEO on which muhiple audio formats
(PCM, DTS, MPEG audio, or Dolby Digital
fomlat) are recorded.
[OFF]
No priority given.
[AUTO] Priority given
• When you set the item to [AUTO], the language may
change. The [TIL&CK SELECTION] setting has
higher priori_, than the [AUDIO] settings in
[LANGUAGE SETUP] (page 72) (Depending on
the disc, this fimction may not work)
• IfPCM, DTS, Dolby Digital sound, and MPEG mldio
tracks have the same number of channels, the system
selects PCNI, DTS, Dolby Digital sound, and MPEG
audio tracks in this older.
• [MULTI-DISC RESUME] (DVD VIDEO/
VIDEO CD only)
Switches the Multi-disc Resume setting on or
off. Resume playback point can be stored in
memory for up to 40 different DVD VIDEO/
VIDEO CD discs (page 30).
[ON] Stores the resunle settings in
menlo! 7 tbr up to 40 discs
[OFF] Does not store the resume settings
in memol 7 Playback restarts at
the resmne point only for the
cmrent disc in the system.
• [AUDIO DRC] (Dynamic Range Control)
(DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW only)
Narrows the dynamic range of the sound track.
Useful lbr watching movies at low volume late
at night.
[OFF] No compzession of dynamic
range
[STANDARD]
Reproduces the sound track with
the kind of dynamic range that the
recording engineez intended.
[MAX]
Compresses @namic range at the
IllaxiillHlIl.
• [AUDIO DRC] only applies to Dolby Digital sources.
• [DivX] (Asian, Australian, and Saudi
Arabian models only)
Displays the registration code lbr this system.
