6.1 Initial start-up and longer breaks in use
➢ Sterilize the X-Smart 5:1 AL contra-angle handpiece, the handpiece
sleeve, the file clamp, and lip clip cable and lip clip before initial
startup.
➢ Clean and care the X-Smart 5:1 AL contra-angle handpiece after
longer breaks in use.
➢ Charge the foot control completely before the first use.

Before each patient

IMPORTANT
Cable inspection
Inspect the cable of the charger, the handpiece, the lip clip, and the
file clamp before and after each use. If you detect wear or tear of the
cables, contact the service center.
WARNING
Danger of a defective file due to incorrect motor calibration.
Perform a system calibration before every treatment and every time a
contra-angle handpiece is changed.
1. "Perform a cable test [→ 56]".
2. "Perform a calibration [→ 53]".
NOTICE! Repeat the calibration every time the contra-angle
handpiece is changed.
