Overview The Nupro Freedom™ Cordless Prophy System with SmartMode™ Technology offers a cordless design that eliminates cord drag and allows clinicians easy access and comfort during prophylaxis procedures. SmartMode™ Technology controls the speed of the handpiece using the DPA’s pressure against the tooth, eliminating the need for a foot pedal.
4. Precautions • Before using this product, carefully read and follow all instructions and save them for future reference. Observe all precautions and warnings. The cordless handpiece system can only be used with Nupro Freedom • ® Disposable Prophy Angles.
The objective of the information provided in this section is to reduce the potential for patient cross contamination when using a Nupro Freedom™ Cordless Prophy System with SmartMode™ Technology during routine dental care. Instructions for Steam Sterilizing the Outer Sheath (Cont.) CLEANING: MANUAL Disassemble by removing the disposable prophy angle (DPA) from the Outer Sheath, and the Outer Sheath from the inner module. Prepare enzymatic solution per manufacturer’s recommendation. Using a lint-free cloth dampened with the prepared detergent, thoroughly wet the Outer Sheath with the prepared detergent.
If necessary, the cordless handpiece may be “quick charged” for a single use in 15 minutes. Please note that the cordless handpiece motor will not operate when charging. Use only the Nupro Freedom™ Cordless Prophy System Power Supply and cord. Failure to do so could cause your system to malfunction and void your warranty.

To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be con- sidered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the Nupro Freedom™ is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the Nupro Freedom™ should be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as reorienting or relocating the Nupro Freedom™.
4. If using an optional wireless foot pedal and it is not plugged into the Nupro Freedom Power Supply, make sure that the foot pedal is not off or discharged (see section 10). Or, you may plug the optional wireless foot pedal into the Nupro Freedom Power Supply and the wireless foot pedal will operate via the power supply.
