CRT DISPLAY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
X-Radiation
Warning: The only potential source of X-Radiation is the picture tube. However when the high voltage circuitry is
operating properly there is no possibility of an X-Radiation problem. The basic precaution which must be
exercised is to keep the high voltage at the following factory recommended level.
Note:
It is important to use an accurate periodically calibrated high voltage meter.
1. To measure the high voltage, connect a high voltage meter to the unit (© to CRT Ground Strap and @ to CRT
anode).
2. Turn Brightness control fully counterclockwise (minimum brightness).
3. Measure the high voltage. The high voltage meter (electrostatic type) reading should indicate 12.0 kV+
1.0 kV.
4. If the meter indication is out of tolerance, immediate service is required to prevent the possibility of premature
component failure.
5. To prevent X-Radiation possibility, it is essential to use the specified picture tube. Any attempt to substitute a tube of
a different manufacturer or color can result in a serious X-Radiation hazard and component failure.
A general class FCC licence is required to service this product. Please refer all service to qualified service facility.
