Data Management Overview Job, settings and other files are managed from the ‘Data Management’ screen where files can be saved to and retrieved from a USB memory stick. Smartdate X65 is compatible with many brand types. However, where the USB memory stick is intended to be permanently installed on a controller with the IP45 kit fitted, the memory stick must be shorter than 100mm in length.
Data Management Selecting one of the options provides access to the specified file types which can be uploaded from, or downloaded to the USB memory stick. The specified file type can also be deleted from the controller’s local memory. The following examples demonstrate the transferring of job files. The process for transferring other file types follows the same process.
Data Management Transfer to USB To transfer job files to the USB memory stick from the printer’s local memory, press the ‘Transfer to USB’ button. Tools > Data Management > Job > Transfer to USB Transfer to USB Delete Transfer from USB The files available on the USB memory stick are displayed.

Maintenance Care of the Printhead Although purpose-built for its application, the printhead is still subject to wear and tear. Printhead life varies considerably depending on the substrate materials being used and the printhead darkness settings. Markem-Imaje ink ribbon protects the printhead against wear however, when using ink ribbon widths narrower than the printhead, it is possible that the unprotected section of the printhead is subject to increased wear.
