FROUBLESHOOTING
If, after following the steps in the chart below, the problem stil exists, please consult your nearest JVC dealer.
The camcorder is a microcomputer-controlled device. External noise and interference (from a TV, a radio,
tc.) might prevent it from functioning properly. In such cases, first disconnect its power supply unit (battery
pack, AC Power Adapter/Battery Charger, etc.) and wait a few minutes; and then re-connect it and proceed
as usual from the beginning,
No power is supplied.
* The power is not connected
properly.
+ The battery is dead.
'* Connect the AC Power
'Adapter/Charger securely
(F pg. 9).
'Replace the dead battery
with a fully charged one
(CF pg. 8, 9)
"SET DATE/TIME!"
appears.
'The date/time is not set.
The built-in clock battery
has run out and the
previously set date/time has
been erased.
'Set the date/time (© pg. 11).
Consult your nearest JVC
dealer for replacement.
Recording cannot be
performed.
'The tape's erase protection

* Disengage the Squeeze

'Set "WIDE MODE" to
"CINEMA" or "OFF" mode
(> pg, 24).
«Make sure you have
selected the mode of
Program AE with special
effects you want before
starting editing
( pg. 26, 28).
15, The Picture Wipe and
Dissolve functions do not
work.
15, « The last selected editing
scene is ending.
'At the end of the last
selected scene for editing,
the Power Switch was set to
"OFF".
The power is off.
* Select Picture Wipe or
Dissolve before beginning
recording. The effects are
then automatically activated
(CF pg. 26).
Do not turn off the
camcorder's power after
setting Edit-in and Edit-Out
points, as they will all be
erased (Ci pg. 26).
'+ The camcorder automati-
cally shuts of after 5 minutes
have elapsed in the Record
Standby mode. Make sure
you continue operations
within 5 minutes after
engaging Record-Standby
mode (F pg. 26).
