To set up the Craftsman circle cutter model 183.17253:
1. Unpack the cutting tool and all components. 2. Confirm all parts are present, including the circle cutter (referred to as Router Circle Cutter). 3. Insert the correct cutting bit using the collet wrench: - Ensure the flutes of the bit are fully visible outside the collet. - Do not clamp on the flutes. - Tighten the collet nut securely. 4. Adjust the depth of cut so the bit extends 1/8" beyond the drywall thickness. 5. Install the sole plate attachment as described on pages 9–10 of the manual. 6. Connect the circle cutter accessory following its instructions. 7. Hold the tool with both hands, turn it ON, and use the cutter as needed.
Always move the bit in a counterclockwise direction during cutting for better control.
