1.2 Storing the Console

You may store the console in the rack if the LCD, keyboard, touchpad, and/or external mouse are not used.

Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server and its peripheral devices
safely. Failure to observe the precautions may cause burns, injury, and property damage.
For details, refer to Safety precautions.
• Do not pinch your fingers or hands w ith guide rails, slide rails, and the console drawer when
storing the draw er in the rack.
• Make sure that the latch lever is surely locked.
• Alw ays store the external mouse in the mouse storage w hen closing the LCD.
Note
It is recommended to pow er off the LCD to extend the service life of LCD, if the

LCD is not used for a long time. Pow ering off the LCD w ill not affect the server
since the pow er is supplied to keyboard, touchpad, and external mouse even if the
LCD is pow ered off.
Storing the console drawer in rack also does not affect the server since the power

is supplied to keyboard, touchpad, and external mouse.
