My treadmill is new and I tightened the belt to try to fix it, but it is not making this lip part go down… It’s making noise and rubbing on the back of the treadmill when it goes through.

To fix noise and rubbing issues with the Pro-Form SPORT 5.5 treadmill belt, follow these steps:
1. Check Belt Tension – If the walking belt is too loose or too tight, adjust it by tightening or loosening the belt evenly using the adjustment bolts at the rear of the treadmill.
2. Align the Walking Belt – If the belt is rubbing against the sides, adjust the rear roller bolts slightly to center the belt.
3. Lubricate the Walking Belt – The treadmill comes with a high-performance lubricant. Do not apply silicone spray or other substances unless instructed by an authorized service representative. If lubrication is needed, refer to the front cover of the manual.
4. Inspect the Reed Switch and Magnet – Ensure the Magnet on the Pulley is aligned with the Reed Switch with a gap of about 3 mm (1/8 in.). If needed, loosen the screws, adjust the Reed Switch, and retighten.
5. Test the Treadmill – Walk on the treadmill for a few minutes to check if the noise or rubbing issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, consult the manual or contact customer support.

Everything switches on and was working perfectly until the belt started speeding up and slowing down on its own. Belt is not touching sides and now the belt doesn't move at all. Have tried the reset but same thing persists. The motor operates the incline and fan modes but belt will not drive. If we push the belt manually it will move.

Possible causes for the Pro-Form SPORT 5.5 treadmill belt speeding up and slowing down on its own or not moving at all include:
1. The treadmill is in demo mode. To turn off demo mode, hold down the Stop button for a few seconds. If displays stay lit, see the settings mode instructions. 2. The power switch may not be in the reset position. Ensure the switch on the treadmill frame is set correctly. 3. The treadmill may have been exposed to cold temperatures. Let it warm to room temperature before use to avoid damage to electrical components. 4. A circuit breaker may be tripping. If connected to an AFCI-equipped outlet, and the breaker trips repeatedly, an arc filter may be needed. 5. The walking belt may be overtightened or misaligned, which can affect performance. Unplug the power cord and adjust the belt if necessary.
