1. AUTO 1 Mode
• Perform preliminary automatic adjustment.
• If the combination of the mechanism and
pickup PWB is changed, be sure to start
adjustment in this mode.
2. AUTO 2 Mode
• Perform ATT (attenuator) automatic adjustment.
• Perform continuous playback (error rate display,
jump test).
3. MANUAL 1 Mode
• Display the temperature.
• Check the displayed value and perform
preliminary adjustment manually (error rate
display, jump test).
4. MANUAL 2 Mode
• Display the temperature.
• Check the displayed value and adjust the
attenuator manually.
• Playback the recorded material continuously
(error rate display, jump test).
5. TEST-PLAY Mode
• Perform continuous playback from the
specified address.
• Jump 1, 10, and 384 tracks manually.
• C1 error rate display (pit section), ADIP error
rate display (group section)
• Perform attitude compensation during continuous
playback. Perform temperature compensation
only when starting up the servo.
Operation in each TEST mode
The unit enters the AUTO2 test mode when the MODE/DISPLAY button is pressed in the test mode
STOP state. A test mode can be selected with the SKIP UP/DOWN buttons.
1. AUTO1 Mode
• If the STOP button is pressed in the AUTO1 menu or during automatic adjustment, the unit enters the test mode STOP state.
At this time, the adjustment value will not be displayed.
• Make sure to perform adjustment by using the specified disc MMD-213A.
• Adjustment NG; displayed when the adjustment value of each item is out of the allowable range, the focus cannot be set to ON, or an adjustment
error occurs.
• AUTO2 starts by pressing the PLAY button while ADJ. OK is displayed.
2. AUTO2 Mode
• If the STOP button is pressed in the AUTO2 menu or during automatic adjustment, the unit enters the test mode STOP state.
At this time, the adjustment value will not be displayed.
• Adjustment NG is displayed when the adjustment value of each item is out of the allowable range or an adjustment error occurs.
• TEST_PLAY starts by pressing the PLAY button while ADJ. OK is displayed.
3. MANUAL1 Mode
• Adjustments performed in AUTO1 mode is to be performed manually.
• The set value increases and new set value is output by pressing the VOLUME + button during adjustment.
• The set value decreases and new set value is output by pressing the VOLUME – button during adjustment.
• The value changes at 100ms intervals consecutively while the VOLUME +/– button is pressed down.
* The set value changes digit by digit in this operation. To change another digit of the value, press the MODE/DISPLAY button.
• RANDOM is displayed if each set value is within the allowable range.
• If the STOP button is pressed during measurement, adjustment or in the MANU1 menu, the unit enters the test mode STOP state.
4. MANUAL2 Mode
• Adjustments performed in AUTO2 mode is to be performed manually.
• The set value increases and new set value is output by pressing the VOLUME + button during adjustment.
• The set value decreases and new set value is output by pressing the VOLUME – button during adjustment.
• The value changes at 100ms intervals consecutively while the VOLUME +/– button is pressed down.
* The set value changes digit by digit in this operation. To change another digit of the value, press the MODE/DISPLAY button.
• RANDOM is displayed if each set value is within the allowable range.
• If the STOP button is pressed during measurement, adjustment or in the MANU2 menu, the unit enters the test mode STOP state.

5. TEST-PLAY Mode
• The unit enters the test mode STOP state when the STOP button is pressed in the TEST-PLAY menu, TEST-PLAY mode, or continuous playback mode.
• If the PLAY button is pressed in the TEST-PLAY menu, continuous playback starts from the position where the pickup lens is located.
• In the TEST-PLAY menu, the target address changes as follows at each press of the GROUP/CLEAR button.

If the PLAY button is pressed while the target address is displayed, continuous playback starts after it is searched for.
• While the TEST-PLAY mode target address is displayed, the cursor indicating the digit to be changed with the SKIP UP/DOWN button shifts as
follows at each press of the MODE/DISPLAY button.

• If the SKIP UP button is pressed while the TEST-PLAY mode target address is displayed, the number of the digit in the address specified by the
MODE/DISPLAY button is changed to "+01H" (0 - F).
• If the SKIP DOWN button is pressed while the TEST-PLAY mode target address is displayed, the number of the digit in the address specified by
the MODE/DISPLAY button is changed to "–01H" (0 - F).
* The value changes at 100ms intervals continuously while the SKIP UP/DOWN button is pressed down.

• Display the internal operation mode and
memory volume in the normal mode.
• Perform both the temperature and attitude
compensations in the normal mode.
• Display error information.
• Change coefficients of the digital servo manually
(turn on each servo independently).
• Select the cutoff frequency of BASS1,
BASS2, and BASS3 manually.
• Measure the temperature detection terminal
voltage and set the referential value.
• Select and set each default value.
• Update the settings of the EEPROM protect
area (when canceling the protection).
